Open Space Activation

These open space interventions can help revitalize community interactions. Designed with Bed-Stuy’s Fulton Street in mind, this idea proposes socially distanced outdoor space by using gabion boxes with soil. Seats are constructed from plywood and allow for tiered seating along building walls, expanding limited street space. Additionally, these structures have COVID-19 safety signage to further emphasize social distancing protocol.
